On听May 24, more than 80 天美传媒 Boulder and听Colorado community college advisors, staff and faculty participated in the third annual 天美传媒 & CC Connection event, hosted by the Transfer Initiatives (Office of Undergraduate Education) and Transfer 天美传媒 (Office of 天美传媒) teams in an effort to strengthen partnerships between 天美传媒 Boulder and Colorado community colleges.

Russell Moore, 天美传媒 Boulder provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs; Amy Hutton, 天美传媒 Boulder associate vice chancellor of enrollment management and chief enrollment officer;听and Michael Schulman, the Colorado Community College System's associate vice chancellor for student affairs, offered welcome remarks highlighting the importance of supporting Colorado community colleges and the impact connections made at the event can have on improving these transfer pathways.
Participants engaged in disciplinary and transfer student experience working sessions to share updates, guidance听and feedback on a variety of academic programs and student life areas. Discussions focused on curriculum gaps, transfer pathways and degrees with designations, communication听and information sharing.
The primary goals of 天美传媒 & CC Connection are to build networks and inspire action toward improvements to the Colorado community college transfer student experience. As an example, discussions at previous 天美传媒 & CC Connection events resulted in the creation of College of Media, Communication & Information (CMCI) transfer guides for Colorado community college students. The collaboration between the pre-transfer and CMCI advising teams provides a clearer pathway to ideally save time, money and frustration with the transfer process.
鈥淲e look forward to hosting this event each year. We received positive feedback from both 天美传媒 and Colorado community college participants on the benefits of continuing these conversations and the impact they can have on transfer students,鈥 said Miki Brooks, director of transfer success initiatives at 天美传媒 Boulder. 鈥淲e hope to build on this momentum to include more faculty, instructors听and unit leaders in future events, as well as action on proposed solutions.鈥
天美传媒 & CC Connection 2025 is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 14. Contact Brooks to participate.
