ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Boulder Research Cybersecurity Program

Old Main with the Flatirons in the background

The Research Innovation Office (RIO) and the are implementing a new program to address recent changes in cybersecurity requirements implemented by the US federal government.ÌýThe ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Boulder Research Cyber Security Program was necessitated by the Executive branch’s creation of the Controlled Unclassified Information (ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I) program, which establishes policies and practices standardizing the way USG agencies handle unclassified information requiring protection.Ìý The new ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I policies and procedures affect many federally-funded contracts and grants at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Boulder.ÌýÌý

The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Boulder Research Cyber Security Program will provide support and resources to assist faculty and staff in accomplishing research activities while remaining in compliance with ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I policies and practices.ÌýThe program will include ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I and research cyber security training, consulting services, and ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I-compliant information technology (IT) services.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý

The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I and research cyber security training and consulting services are actively being developed by RIO and the ITSO.ÌýInvestigating ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½I-compliant IT service options requires your assistance to determine current information technology utilization in research groups across campus.ÌýPlease make time on your calendars to assist them if contacted directly regarding the program.

Please address any questions you may have regarding this new program to the Research Cyber Security Program Manager, Scott Maize:Ìýscott.maize@colorado.edu.ÌýÌýÌý
