ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Study Buddies

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Study Buddies makes it possible for undergraduate students to sign up for small, self-organizing study groups that meet in-person (on-campus) and/or virtually. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Â research shows that helping students find classmates to study with can help them increase their sense of belonging and be more successful in their courses. Studying with classmates is also a great way to meet new people, develop good learning habits, and better understand course content. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Study Buddies also introduces students to helpful study resources and campus study locations.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Study Buddies is a pilot program out of the College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Office of Information Technology, which focuses on high-impact courses that correlate with retention and persistence at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Boulder.

Who can participate?

Fall 2023 Study Buddies courses will be posted in late August.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Study Buddies provides:

  • A chance to join the pilot for participating course sections
  • Assistance getting matched with two study buddies
  • An opportunity to connect with classmates and make learning more enjoyable
  • Study resources and guidance for successfully studying with others

How does it work?

  1. Eligible students are given a sign-up link in their course and sent an email to opt in.
  2. Once matched with two of their classmates, students receive an email within one week from custudybuddy@colorado.edu with their study buddies’ names and email addresses.
  3. Students make contact with their study buddies and self-organize where and when to meet and how best to support each other.
